We love hosting

When Dean & Karl couldn’t find suitable PHP & MySQL hosting for a client project in early 2000, they decided to do it themselves, and KDA Web Services was born, starting a 20 year love affair with hosting.

Known today by our customers as Protexia, thousands of websites & applications have graced our servers, from startup businesses through to household names they all received the same level of service, which is to say, the best possible service.

They’re like part of our family, we’ve watched their businesses grow and in several instances their children grow from babies in to young adults heading off to university!  Our customers tend to stay with us for at least 4 or 5 years, with many well in to double digits; and what of that client that sparked it all?  They still host all of their websites and email with us 20 years later.

We believe in paying our way

We believe strongly that businesses should pay their fair share of tax.  Taxes pay for many things that benefit our business; education, healthcare, national infrastructure.  We might now always agree with how they are spent, but they have undoubtedly benefited us, our customers and our business.  That’s why we don’t engage in artificial schemes to reduce the tax we pay – We don’t use offshore companies, we don’t setup artificial corporate structures with artificial licensing agreements, we don’t use any tax avoidance schemes.

We believe everyone deserves a chance

We have no choice where we are born, we could be born in a highly developed country, or an under-developed country, it’s pure chance.  That doesn’t mean that you should have a chance at bettering your situation and enjoying basic essentials for a healthy life such as clean water, food, healthcare, sanitation and education.  We help fund projects in less developed areas of the world to give people a chance at bettering their situation.

In all areas we strive to reduce our per customer CO2 emissions and where we can, our electricity comes from renewable sources.  We can’t get away from the fact that our infrastructure uses electricity, so we offset double our CO2 output for our infrastructure, staff, travel, everything.
